"What do you mean, you can't find the skull?! Do you know how long it takes to identify a skeleton with just the bones?! What?! No way in hell! What the fuck do you think I am, a miracle worker?! Listen buddy--- Don't you hang up on me!!!" Preania's roars could be heard throughout the giant office building, a common occurrence in the Torchay Criminal Investigation Department. Most of the workers didn't seem fazed at all, but a few new-comers found themselves fidgeting uncomfortably at the ruckus.
"Got yerself another bust?" A tall, ruggedly handsome man leaned on the glass door of Preania's forensics room, grinning his cat-like grin. His blonde hair was slightly wavy, and he had a tiny silver silver hoop earing in his left ear. From his alluring green eyes to his casual, semi-expensive clothing, everything about this man screamed "Lady killer." He strode to Preania's desk, whistling in mild surprise at the woman's taste in 'office personalization.' Spiders, skulls, snakes, spikes. Anything considered creepy by the modern public, Preania had draped around her room in a semi-organized fashion.
"Y'know, no matter how many times I come in here, I still can't wrap my head around your tastes." He tapped on a glass case containing a large corn-snake, staring into it with mild fascination.
"Not now, Vincent. Please. The damned EPD actually lost our victim's skull on the crime scene. 'One minute it was there, the next it wasn't,' or so their excuse goes." Preania placed her head in her hands, massaging her temples in irritation. She let out an exasperated sigh, then grabbed her cellphone and shoved it in her pocket. "Come on. We're going to the scene." She stated, briskly heading towards the doors. "Tell the Boss to tell Adriann to stay here and try to sort through what we have so far, then wait for me out front. We're taking my car."
"Ohh, scary." Vincent chuckled, watching her for a while before, once again, casually making his way towards the door.

"You goddamned fucking idiots!!! A two-year-old could have figured out it was stolen! What the fuck do you think 'keep your eye on the corpse until one of us can come to get it' means?!" Preania screeched at the now-petrified police, Vincent chuckling in the background. She stormed off to the side when she was finished, taking care to examine the surrounding area. Vincent followed cooly, lost in thought. "Still... One month is an extremely quick time for a corpse to become completely skeletonized. Something had to have sped up the decomposition process, but... what? And how did no one notice before? We're in the middle of a park, for god's sake!"
Vincent and Preania strolled through one of Elodia's parks, also the scene of the crime. It was still, for the most part, open to the public, although quite a huge chunk had been blocked off to save for evidence. "I don't know why they blocked off this whole section. Most of the evidence is probably gone by now, not to mention this is a high-traffic area. We're going to be searching for a needle in a haystack." Preania muttered darkly, searching through some bushes just on the other side of the 'caution' tape.
