Early evening... The click of business shoes announces the stride of what appears to be a rather high-up businessman, fat and well-dressed as any spoiled rich millionaire might be. Following behind him, two body-guards, the outline of a gun clear tucked behind each's coat. It certainly wasn't the strangest thing in town - after all, all the big-shots lived and worked in Elodia. What was odd was seeing them striding out in the daylight, as if there weren't many enemies to be careful of.
Up ahead, a young man leaned against an iron fence around the outdoor seating of a restaurant. As the man and his two body guards approached, the teen's gloved hand ducked into his own coat pocket. Both guards had indeed noticed, and were quick to reach for their guns, but a wave of dismissal by the boss stopped them. The young man turned towards the old man, his bright orange hair contrasting well with the bald head of the business man. Out drew his hand, and in it, a blank CD in a thin clear plastic case. He held the CD out to the businessman, who took it and tucked it away out of sight. "Pleasure doing business with you." Stated the old man, and the young teenager bowed, a hand across his chest in a polite gesture.
The transaction was over in a matter of minutes, and the young man stood straight, readjusting his glasses, and moved to walk past the other three, who then proceeded off down the street to their company headquarters.
What had been so secret, so important that the head of a high-class industrial company would waste his time to meet a teenager on the sidewalk, to exchange a CD? Nothing more than the services of a high-tech impossible-to-crack security program. A quick insert to any computer on the company network, and Elodia Marketing Corporation would be safe from hackers and thieves for the rest of their company life.
That is, until the day they grow too powerful, and Jaxer would take back the gift he had given.
