Oh the things she did for people.
Hovering not too far from the castle ruins, Altaire sat herself down on an empty street bench, letting a light sigh escape her glossed lips as she did so. She had no idea what this day was going to bring her. It was just passing noon and the weather, although a little nippy when the breeze kicked in, was fairly nice as the sun warmed her face.
She was going on a date with a villain.
It was an odd predicament. This would be the favour to her co-worker; the noble Tarrikh, a man of dragonkind. Mystery had always shrouded the tall, dark dragon. He did not speak much of himself but when he did, his words were heavy with wisdom and experience. Since Tarrihk had spent a night at Altaire's to give Aerich some room, as he lodged with his sea equine boss, he allowed Altaire to know a bit more of his history.
A history that included this villain.
Honoré Delemare was what you would call an exterminator. He seemed like your typical punk coyote with his fashion sense and crazy black hair, but he was truly much more than that. Honoré was a special type of exterminator - one hired by a select grouping of corrupt officials that wished to rid the world of certain clans or species that they felt could over power them. Tarrikh was a part of one of these clans and remains the sole survivor. Honoré doesn't know of Tarrihk's existence.
It was no surprise that upon Honoré's entrance to the Vice Library, where Altaire and Tarrikh work, that Tarrikh immediately took to hiding and Altaire had to deal with Honoré who took interest in the Giselle. To get him to leave, Altaire agreed to his date. All of this to keep him away from Tarrihk.
Wasn't she a great friend?
Altaire sighed at the thought. Sure, Honoré wasn't bad looking, even if he was a little younger than her. They're images didn't match at all - she was a professional, constantly seen with curled blonde hair and pencil skirts while he was in torn jeans and t-shirts. Still, she hadn't been on a date in a while. It didn't help that Aerich never noticed her and she wasn't getting any younger...
Even if she was going on a date with the man who killed Tarrihk's people, she had to at least feign some sort of interest or, on the other hand, she could present herself as incredibly dull and perhaps he would lose interest. It was starting to become clear on her face that she was troubled with her inner thoughts as her fingers began fiddling with the buttons on her double-breasted coat.
She wasn't strong, vengeful, nor could she ever try to take down a man to avenge someone, yet the thought of this was beginning to sink heavy in her stomach. A sense of weakness began to overcome her.
She needed a miracle.
