(Since "Our Journey Begins! <3" is now in the Archives and cannot be added on to, and since I felt like finally making a reply three years later, I will continue it on this thread.
KITTIE, YOU SHOULD RESPOND. SRSLY.)
Twilight crept into the mountains, casting a still, violet glow across the terrain. The setting sun wavered as it ducked under the mountains, and the light of day retreated into the horizon. Tamil sat upon a gnarled stump next to his tent. He had spent all day running around camp ensuring that all necessary preparations had been made for the rebels' defensive stand.
Tamil had expended a good portion of his strength elevating the camp about half a mile into the sky, assigning battalions of archers to each quadrant of the artificial plateau, and briefing the few officers below him in command. The twilight brought with it a silence that allowed Tamil to finally contemplate.
The single, violet eye shifted alertly about the activities of the camp. All soldiers were armed and prepared to their optimum capabilities. The food and water had been conglomerated to a central rationed position. The tents had been erected in a circle around a great bonfire. A stone wall served as a shield that surrounded the circumference of the plateau.
The rebels were prepared for a siege.
Tamil, with cool composure, rose from his perch and brushed a long charcoal strand of hair from his face. If there was any sort of concern about the coming situation, his face did not show it. It was not until the horns resounded through the cold night air that a frown creased his features.
"Here they come."
